Le Cafe Au Lait

A Perfect Ending

Coffee Rumba
1 ounce dark rum
1 1/2 ounces sugar syrup(1/2 c sugar & 1/2 c water)
1 ounce heavy cream
Cool strong coffee
Vanilla-flavored sweetened whipped cream
 
Put the rum, sugar syrup, and cream into a 12 ounce glass, and stir.
Add two or three ice cubes and fill the glass with coffee. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream, and serve.

Tummy Love Wine
 
1 750 -ML bottle of White Zinfandel or Gerwurtz-Traminer White Wine
1/4 cup fresh lemon balm leaves(use dried if fresh not available)
1/4 cup fresh lemon verbena leaves
1/4 cup fresh strawberries
1/4 cup fresh watermelon
1/4 cup rose hips, fresh or dried
2 tablespoons fresh fennel leaves
2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger root
1 tablespoon fresh rose geranium blossoms(use dried if no fresh)
A few slices fresh organic orange or tangerine-(leave peel and seeds intact only if using oragnic)
2 teaspoons cinnamon chips
 
 
Place all ingredients in a widemouth glass jar. Cover and shake well
Let sit overnight
Refrigerate and continue to steep for 1 week - 1 month
Strain,rebottle wine, and keep in refrigerator. It will last for several months
 
Enjoy with meals or dessert
 
 
 

Strawberry Rosewater Lassi
 
1 cup plain low fat youghurt
10 strawberries
2 tsps honey
1 tsp rosewater
6 ice cubes(optional)
 
 
Combine the yogurt, strawberries, honey, rosewater, and ice cubes in a blender and process until smooth. Serve immediately. note* in Ayurvedic cooking beverages are served at room temperatures to aid in digestion. Cold drinks are considered too taxing to the digestive system*
